Congress Room 2 – named after the River Una
The Una River is a crystal-clear mountain river, known for its spectacular waterfalls and tufa cascades such as Štrbački Buk and Martin Brod. Legend has it that a Roman soldier, mesmerized by its beauty, exclaimed “Una!” - meaning the one and only.
It forms a natural border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, and its upper course is part of the Una National Park. The river is home to over 170 species of medicinal plants and 28 species of fish, including grayling, trout, and the prized huchen (Danube salmon). With depths of up to 248 meters at its spring, one of the deepest karst sources in the world, and world-famous rafting routes, Una is not only the fourth-largest river in BiH but also a treasure of natural adventure and biodiversity.
